With the ongoing flooding in most parts of Thailand, this is what my daughter has to say regarding her contingency plans.

Humor helps us to think out of the box. The average child laughs about 400 times per day. The average adult laughs only 15 times per day. What happened to the other 385 laughs? Kids are cute, cuddly, and little monsters. 10% angels and 90% trouble. They will remember you for the feelings that you cherished them and not of the material things you provided.

Compare Yourself to Jesus

People look at the flaws of someone else in order to feel better about themselves, while others simply want reassurance that they are doing well. Whenever you are tempted to compare yourself with someone, compare yourself with Jesus for a dose of humility. His examples will inspire you to do your very best. His loving acceptance will comfort you when you fall short.

Forgive

The happiest people in life are the givers and the forgivers. They always share their blessings and harbor no grudges to anyone. This frees them from stress and heartaches. A real apology is when you see the pain in their eyes and hear the sadness in their voice. Then you realize that they were hurt just as much. Forgive, for it warms your heart and cools the sting.

Pay it Forward

We choose how we see people. When we like someone, we can be so tolerant. When we are irritated by people, we focus on their faults. It is our attitude and not the people’s behavior that determines how we feel about them. We don’t see the things the way they are. We see them as we are.

Love is the language of heaven. It is the heartbeat of God. It is the message of Christ. Keep on showing God's love, for He repays loving and caring acts. It may not be in the form of money or goods. More often He repays with joy, peace, health, friendship and more love.

In our lives, we are faced with major changes, undeserved criticisms, impossible problems, unanswered prayers, delayed promises and even senseless tragedies. Our God never allows these circumstances we face to be greater than His grace. He is true to His promises and will take to completion whatever He started in you. Certain things are impossible, that is the way of life. With Him, nothing is impossible, that is the way to live.

There is no coincidence in life. God has a good plan for each and every one of us. If you feel bad now of what is happening to your life, that is a sign that your plan is not the right one for you.
